Happy Thanksgiving!

I don't really post much on here anymore, but why not stick one up now since it's Thanksgiving.  Looking back this year there is much to be thankful for. In November of 07, it was decided that a small group would be started.  It started off at a meeting at Ben's house, though it wasn't the first official small group meeting.  Whether you were "tricked" or not, we still met together to have a sushi nite, I believe.  It was later then explained that we wanted to start a small group (home team) with the group of people that went.  What started off as a group of 6 to 8 people has now grown into a group of over 20 people, which meet on two separate nites.  Monday group has about 8 or 9 and Tuesday group has like 9-11 or something like that.

Why do I mention this?

I am thankful for this group.  It's been a year since we've started and I have seen so many prayers answered, and they continue to get answered.  Over this past year, I realized even more the power or prayer.  Okay, maybe this should have been a New Year's-reflect-on-the-past-year-post, but I did learn something about thankfulness.  Sometime earlier this year I was reading my devotions and it changed my prayers in that I didn't want to just thank God for everything that happened already, but also be thankful for the things that are to come.  Through that, it constantly reminds me that no matter what we go through, God is ultimately in control of things- good and rough times.  Is it tougher to be more thankful at certain times? O definitely, but yet as it's said... things can always be worse.  But when it comes down to it, I am truly blessed with family, friends, shelter, job, and the list goes on.

Anyways, happy thanksgiving!!
